Agent Pitch Slam and Workshop on August 18

On the afternoon of August 18, Deidre Knight and Elaine Spencer of The Knight Agency will treat us to a full-immersion experience in the world of literary agents, editors, and publishing. From 1 to 3:15 p.m., each agent will respond to pitches from 10 AWC members (sorry, all appointments and standby slots are full). From 3:30 to 5, Deidre Knight will lead a workshop on how to find an agent, how an agent finds a publisher for your work, and your role in marketing your work after publication. After the workshop, Deidre will provide instructions for submitting a query that will get it past the gatekeepers and into her and Elaine's hands. This workshop is free and open to all AWC members and visitors.
